Kingdom of Tonga showcased on New Zealand Roadshow

In the past few weeks a team has travelled to New Zealand for an inaugural week long Roadshow about the Kingdom of Tonga. The team was led by two staff members from the Ministry of Tourism and consisted of accommodation providers and tour operators from Tonga, showcasing all that Tonga has to offer.

The group was divided into two for the initial meetings with one group visiting Mt Maunganui and Hamilton in the North Island and one group covering Christchurch and Dunedin in the South Island before they all reunited to present two seminars in Auckland. Over 100 members of New Zealand’s tourism community attended seminars given by the group which showcased many of the fantastic holiday options that Tonga has to offer. It should not be hard to convince people to come to a country as beautiful as Tonga!

Chathams Pacific was represented at this event by Kate Yeoman from our Tongatapu office. Chathams Pacific has also donated a return airfare to Vava’u and a return airfare to Ha’apai towards two fantastic package trips to Tonga that guests at the seminars went into the draw to win.

This roadshow was a great success for Tonga’s tourism industry, and will certainly help the Kingdom of Tonga become more visible on the international tourism market!
